Te Tookiri - The Skin
Sat 19th, Sun 20th & Mon 21st April 2025
Ōtautahi/Christchurch | Te Arateatea Whare Hauora
This is an amazing wānanga that is relevant to everyone - as we all have skin - and yet we know and understand so little about it. Our skin is always sending and recieving information, decoding and transmitting. This wānanga will help you to understand the biggest organ of the human body and begin to develop the ability to connect to the wisdom that it contains.

About this Waananga
This is an amazing wānanga that is relevant to everyone - as we all have skin - and yet we know and understand so little about it. Our skin is always sending and recieving information, decoding and transmitting. This wānanga will help you to understand the biggest organ of the human body and begin to develop the ability to connect to the wisdom that it contains.
Wānanga Te Tookiri covers the following aspects:
- How the skin was created by our Māori Atua (Gods) and why
- The purpose of the skin
- The flaws within the design
- What is encoded within the cells of the skin
- The spiritual essence within the cellular memory
- The imprint
- The blue print
- The Takutaku for te tookiri (skin)
This is a enlightening wānanga for those wanting a greater understanding of their own skin, and those that work as Ta Moko or Tattoo Artists, Kaimiri/Kairomi and Rongoaa practitioners... and is open to anyone wanting to further their knowledge and appreciation of Whare Wānanga Lore.
Our waananga/workshops are open to everybody and the only requirement is that students come with an open heart and an open mind. We provide an open and safe environment for self-healing, realisations, empowerment and clarity.
Te Arateatea follows the path to enlightenment. Our core purpose is to awaken and effect spiritual consciousness and awareness by using ancient traditional Māori teachings and philosophies handed down through the ages to ground us within today's modern world. Our mission is to carry on Papa Hohepa Delamere’s teachings and work, through Wānanga and workshops not only here in Aotearoa but also worldwide.
