About this Waananga

In this world, we can all too often find ourselves or those we love, alone and experiencing
states of mind - lower vibrational states.

This waananga is about understanding and walking through the shadow world to find peace
- peace of mind, peace of heart - inner peace. The waananga is an in-depth
traditional Māori view and perspective on mental health and well-being - including
depression, anxiety, and suicide. We will share tools and insights into the spiritual/physical
and emotional tohu (signs) for people facilitating, supporting or experiencing this kaupapa
first-hand.

Within the workshop, we will learn the takutaku (incantation) to help bridge the embattled
mind and the whole being of the person - to solidify and build bridges - to stabilise the
mind and being. We will also look at the process of the mauri and the wairua on their journey
home.

This workshop will be facilitated bv Ruatau Perez (Ngāi Tūhoe, Ngāpuhi) from Te Ara
Teatea Whare Hauora who had the Privilege to have trained under Papa Joe for 10 years
until his passing. Ruatau has been a Rongoaa practitioner and run waananga/workshops in
Aotearoa and around the world since the year 2000. First introduced to mirimiri as a child by
his grandmother and later training under Papa Joe, Ruatau continues to practice and share
the art of our sacred healing traditions

The waananga is open to all - both Māori and non-Māori, all we ask is that you
come with an open heart and mind to receive these teachings. The waananga will
be shared in both te reo Māori and English.

Our mission is to carry on Papa Hohepa Delamere's teachings and work thorugh not only here in Aotearoa, but also worldwide.
